How old is your computer? Is it a desktop computer? If this continues to happen, this Alzheimer's effect is probably caused by a dead battery. This might also make the computer forget the basic hardware configuration and cause problems. It might not even boot if it forgets hardware information about the hard drive. The battery is a watch style battery. Check the manual for your computer for where it is located and how to replace it.

I had my PC on stand-by quite a bit yesterday.
Today when I sent an email out the time stamp was correct. However, when I checked the time with the JAWS key and F12, it was off by over eight hours.
Any ideas as to how to keep this from happening in the future?
