I took a look at Open Book the other day as the March FS
cast made mention of a new product that will be using it. I
downloaded the demo version and it seems to work ok. I
currently use OmniPage Pro and unfortunately Open Book will
not open and convert those files. I think if you are a "low
vision" user the open Book offers lots of nice features you
will not find in ordinary commercial software. However, if
totally blind and you own JAWS I find the price too high.
Great product but for what I personally use a scanner for it
is too costly.

discontinued but, this
Yahoo list is still active. I know, I am a member. Take

  Mike:
I remember reading somewhere that the openbook list was
discontinued and
it
was ok for us to post openbook questions here. Lets wait
for David to pop
in
  and verify this...

that website so
many times how come I never saw openbook there? I guess
that's what I
get
for being so one dimentional. When ever I am on that
site, all I ever
read
    about is jaws, thanks Chris!
