Hello.

When Avast 5.0 first came out I heard that it lacked adequate support for
screen readers. When I contacted Avast about this they responded by saying that
they were working very hard on a blind-friendly version of Avast. As I felt
this whole situation was unacceptable I worked very hard on removing Avast 4.8
from my system and I have now switched to AVG 9.0, which, while not accessible
in every way, allows me to access all of its functions.

The Avast Web site claims that the latest version, 5.0.507, is reasonably
accessible with screen readers. While I am happy using AVG I do know of people
using Avast 4.8 and would like to advise them on whether they should upgrade to
5.0. therefore, I'm wondering if anyone has used the latest Avast and am
wondering how usable it is with JAWS, Window-eyes and NVDA.

David
