Hey folks,
Thanks for the link. I contacted him, but since that site hasn't been
updated since 2007, I wonder if he is still answering people's emails.
Also, I've joined the JAWS scripting mailing list, and maybe I can get
something there as well, and if not, then I'll go to Jamal Mazrui until I
get something. I mean seriously guys, don't you think that all of those
type of producs should be accessible with JAWS? I'll talk to you folks
later then.

Hello everyone,

I was just informed that I am about to receive the Digital Player from the
NLS. I can't find any instructions at all on the NLS web site on how the
player operates. It tells me how to download a book, get it on to a blank
cartridge to put in the player, but nothing about how to operate the player
itself.

Over the months I've seen a few postings about the digital player on this
list and saved them because I knew I would eventually receive a player, but
I know there are a lot of features of the player that I'll want to get used
to.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get a tutorial or some
instructions on the player?

Thanks,

Ken

You will get a user manual on the player itself. If you just turn it on
without a thumb drive or cartridge in it you will hear what the different
keys do. If you have any more questions I can help you off list.

While you're waiting for your player, check out the FAQs page on the BARD
Talk web page which explains everything you need to know about the new
player and how to download books and magazines. You might even want to join

the BARD Talk email list to discuss the player and other aspects of the NLS
Digital Talking Book program.

I've been shopping online at Shoprite for several years. Although I had
minor problems on and off, I've always been able to solve them by trial and
error and getting help from this list. Now, I've encountered a problem and I
don't know if its a JAWS problem or the website. When I get to the home
page, I can click on a link to take me to the next page where I again click
on a link which takes me to the Shoprite in my area. Now, that's where the
problem comes in. No matter what link I click on, e.g. log-in, shopping,
etc. I go nowhere. When I place something in a search box and press the "go"
button, I find myself still sitting at the "go" button. I'm so frustrated
because I can't get my order in for this week. I used the site last week
with no problem. Can some one please help with some suggestions. If it's the
site, how come I can get to the third page, but no further. Any help will be
greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Jo

Don't know about expressionWeb, but visual studio.net 2008 and 2005 are
pretty usable along with the right jaws scripts for them, but there aren't
really any for VS.Net 2010 as of yet.

The best place to look into this is via programming mailing lists, but there

is also a blind web developers list out there - would have to look for
information again, but a good starting point is somewhere like Inthane Elf's

Grab Bag:
http://grabbag.alacorncomputer.com/

There are also various other preferred web page tools out there like
arachnophilia, etc., and you'll find mention of them on that page.

Stay well
