Hi,
I think it is just your JAWS hanging. What browser are you using, and what
Version of JAWS are you using? I have JAWS 11.0 and firefox 3.6.3, and I
get lots of hanging with those. I wonder if it is simply a glitch in the
programs themselves. Try it with internet explorer and see what happens.
Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Katherine

Hi,

Recently I purchased the student Word program and am having trouble with it.
1 are there settings which would make it easier to operate, where could I
find such suggestions?

2 when I try to open files made in word pad, this program tries to open them

and is very slow at it; is there some way to turn this student Word program
off when I am working in Word Pad?

Thanks for any help and for any direction to a tutorial on this program.

I am using XP, and Jaws 11.

Thanks,

Lloyd

Let's try and keep this discussion on track

I want to purchase a program for making a disk image/backup of my computer.

I've been using Acronis True Image, but this isn't very JAWS friendly. I'm
wondering if the Norton Ghost program (or whatever it is) will work better
with JAWS.

Thus, should I upgrade to the newer version of Acronis or jump ship and
purchase the Norton version? Perhaps there is another program which does
this?

I realize that Windows 7 has an imaging program, but you can't pull isolated
files from this backup - Only the entire image can be retrieved.

Thanks for any advice.

I've heard Image For Windows works great with JAWS.
I have not tried it myself though.
I don't think Norton Ghost is accessible, but I've not tried it.

If you are using Windows 7 then an image backup facility is available
right out of the box and is fully accessible. It's part of Backup and
Restore Centre. It was made available in Vista, but only in Enterprise
and Ultimate. Now it's included in every edition of Windows 7.

Oops, I just read the original thread, and sorry for mentioning Windows
7's image backup feature.

I have been trying to access the Blind Cooltech website for a couple of
weeks now and find that I cannot scroll through the links. My JAWS program
seems to fail or the speech takes a long time to come through. Has anybody
on this list had the same problems?
