Try typing sndvol32 /r into the run dialogue box. This should open the recording controls, rather than the playback ones which you get by just typing sndvol32, or accessing the volume icon in the notification area, etc.

Hello all. I am not able to increase the recording volume when making
recordings with a microphone. I can hear what I've recorded but barely.

The settings are not accessible as they appear to be full of graphics. I am
using Jaws 11 and Windows XP SP 3. The soundcard is made by Realtek and I'm
told it is built directly in to the motherboard.

Might this inaccessibility have to do with the fact that the card is built in
to the computer or are all new soundcards becoming more and more graphic and
less accessible to those of us using screen readers?

I don't want to go out and buy a new soundcard unless I have to and I would
hate to do so only to run in to the same issues of inaccessibility.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Pedro
