GMAIL works fine with JAWS. There are 2 things you must do to make it work. In Outlook Express: 1. create a new account for your GMAIL by going to the TOOLS Account pull-down menu In the servers dialog enter the following: My Gmail account Properties Server Information My incoming mail server is a POP3 server. Incoming mail (POP3): pop.gmail.com Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com Incoming Mail Server Account name: enter your GMAIL account Password: ????????? Remember password (this should be checked) Log on using Secure Password Authentication (this check box should not be checked) Outgoing Mail Server My server requires authentication (this check box should be checked) Settings... OK Cancel Now in the ADVANCED dialog page do the following: My Gmail account Properties Server Port Numbers Outgoing mail (SMTP): 465 Use Defaults This server requires a secure connection (SSL) (this check box should be checked) Incoming mail (POP3): 995 This server requires a secure connection (SSL) (this checked also) OK Cancel Save this information Now while logged on your GMAIL ACCOUNT AT www.gmail.com click on any settings link and make sure that "POP" is enabled the gmail help can lead you to it. Now your gmail should work correctly in Outlook Express. Bob Verity Hope this helps. Take care. I am tempted to install Nortons 360 on my desktop computer to see what happens. If I were to do this would the list be interested in receiving a description of the results? There's probably an easier way, but highlight them, then press your alt key and up arrow to restore and press enter. They'll go back where they came from. It didn't come with any documentation nor drivers. Can anyone point me in the direction of where I may download drivers and / or documentation for this model. We would like to use it with an XP computer running either JFW 8 or 10 and a Win 7 computer running JFW 11. Even with the JFW drivers installed in the synthesizer and Braille display manager set to "Alva Satellite" hooking the display up to the computer via USB results in the Alva saying "waiting for connection". I assume that a third party dirver may be needed. Any help would be much appreciated.
