Unless you have changed its default behaviour, Firefox provides these two
options and you can choose Run or Save. If Winzip is your default
compression utility, it will be highlightede to open the file.
However, if you find it not behaving like that, you need to go to Firefox,
Press Alt+T for Tools. Arrow to Options.
A list of categories would open. Use your arrow keys to change categories:
in this case, arrow to "Applications" category. Tab to the Field with
displays file estensions and choose Zip format. Tab to What Firefox should
do? field. There may be the option for "Ask" or a default compression
utility on your computer, or "Save".
Choose a program by clicking on Run. Here you must browse to where Winzip is
installed and select the application. Otherwise the simplest option would
have been to first make sure that Winzip is your default program so that you
won't have to browse to its program installations.
After this, click the Okay button to save your changes and good luck.
As far as I know, Firefox is one of the browser which is efficient and I
hope you would find it so. Its tabbed browsing makes an exciting experience,
and you can now fill in your forms on your own -- even those that require
validation challenge to prevent automated submissions. Just make sure to get
the Webvisum add-on for this.
Cheers and God bless,
Ishe

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Fire fox and winzip?
Listers,
When I'm downloading NLS books, There are two options for downloading,
save
or open. Since I have winzip, I choose open. When the book is finished
downloading winzip automaticly opens and unzips the book and moves it to
the
unzip folder, Can Fire fox be setup to do the same, if so, what would be
the
setting in Fire Fox?
When I choose the open option, there is a list of apps to open the books,
but winzip isn't one of them.
I am just learning to use Fire Fox, so, thanks for your help.
By the way, are there any tutorials or instructions on using Fire Fox?
Carliss
