HW is humanware's software for the victor stream digital player, it you don't have this, then download a book off the bard site to your hard-drive, then locate it, arrow to it, but don't open it, press the applications key and go toextract/unzip and enter on that, tab to follow the prompts and it will unzip it for you to copy to the cartridge to read it.

Plug the cartridge cable into the cartridge and into your USB on your computer open my computer and locate the drive associated to this cartridge, press alt f on the unzipped book and choose save as and teh drive letter of this cartridge, might be letter J or F or something else entirely, and spacebar to save it, it will be copied to the cartridge. You will then have to open the drive associated to the cartridge through my computer just enter on it in the list, and find the book you just copied there and do notopen it, but press control X and that cuts it to the clipboard then up arrow to the folder for TBB or something like that enter on it*it's the one for the talking digital books*, press control V to paste it in the folder press backspace to close the folder, then press alt f4 to close out my computer. Press insert f11 and find the safely remove hardware enter on that, tab to the list of the device that is plugged into your USB, then tab to stop spacebar that, windows pops up asking if you want to stop this device and you spacebar on ok I think, I am not doing it so little fuzzy, but once it's safe for you to unplug the cable from the USB off your computer windows will tell you so. then tab to close button to close out this window. Take your cartridge pop into your player press play button to read it. If you have more than one book, press the play button till you hear bookshelf, press the forward/rewind on either side of the play button to locate the book you want to read press enter on it to start the play. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marilyn Walker" <[email protected]>

Patricia, what is hw? And where oh where is there an absolutely
comprehensive set of fail safe directions for the process of of downloading
books from nls unzipping them and putting them on the cartridge.
Definitions would be great, also. I have received at least three different sets of directions from people trying to be helpful and, so far, I have not
gotten this process right. Any ideas? Marilyn

: An extra note to this..
: If you have a thumb drive, cartridge, or the disk from the stream
connected
: to your computer at the time you have unzipped the books and before you
tab
: to have them unzip, there's selections in HW software to have the books
not
: only unzipped, but sent directly to your choice of storage device.
