Hi Mike
Stunning results happen when we users apply "context" to our computers's
functioning ability. That is, using the "Apication" key.
I had a "corruptive" situation, that I jjust I could not get rid of.
Guess what, yes, in "aplication" was "delete", and it worked.
Sometimes a solutions is right there!
Keep keeping us on board.

Hi Al;
When the particular file is highlighted try pressing the applications key
and arrowing to delete and pressing enter. I have deleted corrupted files
in this manner when just pressing the delete key wouldn't work. Take
care.

Mike,
Thanks for the suggestion but does not appear to work. I
finally tracked down the culprit file about 6-7 directories
deep and it has nothing before it. I can't rename it, open
it, move it etc. Any other ideas from anyone?

Hi Al;
If I remember correctly, these corrupted files have a tilda
or some kind of
sign at the front of their title. If you press your F2 key
with the file in
question highlighted and delete the sign out of the name
then press enter I
think the file can now be deleted. Pressing the F2 on a
highlighted file
allows you to change / alter the whole name / title or any
part of it.
After you have made the changes to your title / name press
enter to save the
changes and save them. Hope, and I do mean hope, this
helps. Take care.
Mike

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Deleting corrupt directory
Good afternoon,
I run across this problem once in a while and am presently
facing it. Is there a way to delete a directory and/or file
that has become corrupt and window's will not allow one to
delete it? This is an old backup file within a directory on
a back up drive. I know I could re format the drive but then
I would need to copy all the good data back and that is
considerable. Any suggestions?
Al
