Ish,
May I send you what I have?
What is your email?

Hmm, I see.

You could be using HTML 4.01 strict or XHTML 1.0 Strict as your document
DTD. bgcolor is incompatible with these, so you must use CSS instead like
this:

<body style="background-color:#000080">

(I used your Navy example in Hex value).

Additionally, consider testing your output in other browsers such as Firefox

(if you are using IE).

I hope this helps a bit.
Take care,

Ishe

Ish,
I looked and there is a space between what you suggested. I just forgot to
input the space when putting it in the email.

Put a space between body and bgcolor attribute.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] background color

Hi,

I have been trying to do this for 4 days now and I am coming up short
every
time.

How do I set up a background color for a website? I would input
<bodybgcolor="navy"> after the </head tag but when viewing it, nothing
happens. Hope someone can help.
