Hi Alan;

Try doing the following;
1. Press Jaws key+ 6 on the number row to open the configuration manager.
2. Press control, shift, + D to open the default configuration manager.
3. Press Alt + S for the set options menu.
4. Arrow down to Text Processing and press enter or when the Set Options
menu opens just press the letter "T".
5. Tab 5 times to the List Item combobox. Here there are 4 options that you
arrow up and down to select from They are; Say None, Say Selected, Say Not
Selected, or Say Both. Personally I have mine set on Say Not Selected, but
you can experiment with the settings to see which one you prefer.
6. After making your selection tab to okay, press spacebar/enter, press
control + S to save your changes, and press alt + F4 to close.
Hope this has helped. Take care.
Mike

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Problem: Everything says "Selected"!

Hello Friends,
I have been putting up with this problem for some months now, perhaps longer
than that.
The only way I know how to resolve it when it happens is to simply kill my
computer, at the power supply.
And restart the computer.

Here is what happens.

I will be in my Outlook Express, and perhaps do something like a bad
keystroke or something, I am not sure, all of a sudden, when I arrow up or
down through my messages, everything says: "Selected"!

And even when I leave Outlook Express, go to my Documents, or any folder,
and arrow up or down, JAWS still says "Selected"!

Even when I go to a Word doc file, still every line I arrow up or down to
will say "Selected"!

Anyone have any ideas what causes this save for some strange key stroke
command I might accidentally hit, or such?
And how can I get the situation corrected, besides what I am doing killing
the power to my computer and restarting it?

I do not think that is good for one's computer, but the only solution I have
found so far to get rid of the problem.
This might happen once a week or so!

Thanks for any assistance.
I hope I explained the situation clearly enough.

With Best Regards,
Alan
