Hello Cliff,
This has happened to me many times in the past!
I am using XP-Home and Microsoft products, Word, Excel, Access 2003.

I have found if I have been working in a Folder in one of my T-Drives, and have had documents open in that folder, then open a new Word doc file and save it, it will go to the folder where I have been working.

This only happens till I open a folder from "My Documents" then all is well again, and my new documents will be saved in "My Documents"

The way around this is now when I have been working in a folder on one of my T-Drives, and save a new document, I type the file name using the prefix: C:\documents and settings\alan dicey\my documents\(then your file name)

Of course in your case you would type your name where Alan Dicey is.

Your file will then be saved in your "My Documents", and after that all subsequent files will be saved there till perhaps you open a file in another folder somewhere on your machine.

At least this works for me.

Best Regards,
Alan

Subject: [Blind-Computing] A strange "Word" problem

Usually, any word document that I "save" goes right to My Documents.

This morning, however, I found three that hadn't gone there, assumed lost by me.

How do I restore the usual return, automatically, of my new documents to "My documents"?
