Hi Stewart,
to make avast more jaws user friendly just open the user interface and tab to
settings and enter on it and there will be a list that comes up, use your arrow
keys to navagate in the list and select an item in the list and then use your
tab key to adjust the settings that you want and then press space bar to save
your settings and then use your arrow keys to select something else from the
list and so forth.
and also in your system tray make sure that avast says that your system is
secured at all times.
and if it says your system is secured it means that all the important functions
are running properley.
