Hi Ishe; Thank you very much for the detailed explanation of the HTML security setting. For some reason or another other people with different providers get the emails from my sister but, I don't and my provider says they are not stripping the graphics/attachments and her provider says the same thing. If she sends me something from her Yahoo account I get it with no problems so, that tells me that there is something wrong somewhere but, no one wants to put out the effort to find the problem. Enough ranting. Thanks again, take care. Mike

This usually happens with emails used for job-related functions: some employers would set up those filters on the main gateway machine. But please note me correctly: I'm not sure that that is the case with her mails. It's just one possible explanation especially considering that you don't have any problems with other emails from other service providers. So the setting in Outlook Express wouldn't do that. Anyway for the next issue: "Block all images in HTml..." on the Security tab in OE options is simply to automatically trim your HTML messages of any images or attachments they might have. This security feature is helpful in deactivating some rogue scripts embedded in HTML messages which may execute some dangerous actions with the attached image or file as their parameter. Personally, I don't think you have to be paranoid with this secuirity by just disabling such attachments: leaving it unchecked won't compromise you unless you know for sure that you often receive spam mail or any unsolicited messages from Mars and this wide, wide world of cyberspace. I think spam can be better handled in other ways: just have your antivirus and antispam and antispyware programs up-to-date, and not just open attachments you aren't sure of.
