Did you press left shift twice quickly?
It works this side, but only tried it on my windows XP machine so far.

I started examining Cobra as well, as a power user, after Jaws I'm having
quite dificulties though. I wanted to get Cobra's menu, and pressed left
shift as described in the help, yet it didnt get opened. I'm using Win 7
