VLC Media Player is a great player that plays about any format on the
player. In some cases, just installing the player will ebable Windows Media
Player to play more formats as well. I still use an old version of the
software, version 0.7, because later versions changed the default skin to
one that is not accessible. I briefly attempted to look for a skin in later
versions that were as accessible. I have not found one yet. I should alert
the Open Source project page of this deeficiency. If you are interested in
the older version for now, I uploaded it to SendSpace. However, Open Source
projects are usually really good about having old versions available.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Has anyone used VLC Media Player?
Hello. I am currently using Jaws 11 and Windows XP SP3. I have Windows
Media Player installed but am unable to play DVD's. I recently read, in
the Braille Forum, August 2010 issue, about an open source program called
VLC Media Player which will allow me to play DVD's. Has anyone used this
program? If so, I'd be interested in hearing about your experience with
this free software.
Thanks.
Pete
