I may have mentioned this on another group but don't think I received a
response. It's not really the first time this has happened, and I've seen it
happens sometimes on my other system or on friends' computers. But because
it's happening more frequently and I'm getting more irritated about this, I
thought I'd ask about a fix or just see if this is just a part of computer use.
It happens rarely when I delete one file or folder, but more often when
deleting several files. Seems there's that one stubborn file--that one that
just won't go away. It may say "can't read from the source disc" or it may say
that it simply can't delete it. I know that if I close the folder and reopen
it, the hard-to-delete file will be gone. I'm using XP and Jaws 10 and 11. I
do have a Windows 7 computer too and I don't think it happens quite as much.
Is this just one of life's little annoyances or can something be done in
Windows or options to get all the files deleted without one staying behind?
The thing that is beginning to concern me even more is, it happened with a
desktop icon. It wouldn't delete and says couldn't read from source disc. No
matter what I did it wouldn't delete, and neither would its associated folder.
a reboot solved it. So now, instead of closing a folder, now we're having to
restart due to a stubborn desktop icon not deleting?

Your thoughts, please.
