This was interesting indeed: this list makes you smile and wish that
discussions of this nature, even though seeming to be out of context,
crop up once in a month and bring a smile on everybody's lips. I find my
32 years still a treasure and wish that I could be 80 some day and be
using a computer with the OS of the day. Yesterday it was about computer
museum which was educational and instructive in tone and today it's
about OS upgrades. My only remark is that age may have nothing to do
with one's proficiency to use a machine, but at the same time it's not
bad to just pick up new technology as we go on. I remember my initial
frustration with the MSOffice 2007 ribbon: but now I'm its major
proponent and wonder how I once worked without it. One reason which made
me buy a new HP laptop with Win7 was its touted ribbon menu. But I don't
seem to see it anyway. Windows 7 is just the same as Windows Xp in many
areas. I think the differences lie in some security features, otherwise
Win7 is not that different. It is also NT-based and a verbose start menu
with a search box etc. If you can and in the mood to do it, you can
upgrade, otherwise it's not that bad to remain on Windows Xp up to
whichever year. I know some folks still use Win2000 and act as if they
have the latest offering from Microsoft or Apple.
Well, that was refreshing and we now know for sure that Blind Computing
is a mill for every generation born after the second World War.
Cheers,
Ishe

Chris, this was a fun conversation today. I don't feel 70 unless someone
