Yes, VLC Media Player is an amazing multi-platform media player! It can
play just about any format known to man or woman. Surprisingly, just
installing VLC will allow Windows Media Player to playback media types that
Microsoft did not bother with or is opposed to. It even has the capability
to bypass some copy protection on some DVDs. There is a free program at
handbrake.fr to rip DVD movies to your hard disk. It uses VLC to bypass the
copy protection. VLC also has the amazing capability to transcode video in
real time and broadcast it over the Internet. It is just very versatile all
around. It has the capability to support a wide variety of user interfaces
and skins. I am glad to see the latest version for windows now has an
accessible skin by default.

There is just so much stuff in the world that, to me, is devoid of any real
substance, value, and content that I just try to make sure that I am working
on things that matter.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Excellent DVD Player!
Hello all!
Want an accessible DVD and media player? Look no further than VLC Media
Player! You can select what part of the DVD you want to play simply by
using the VLC Media Player menus. No inaccessible DVD menu to navigate;
just select what you want from the user interface. You can even select an
audio described track if you have one.
You can download this free and open source program from www.videolan.org.
It even works with Windows 7 so you don't have to use Windows Media
Player, which is good but does not have an accessible DVD player.
Enjoy!
