It really depends on where the link itsself is pointing, as in, if it's sendspace being made use of, you'd still on the webpage it then opened need to start the download, etc., and this (not being nasty) doesn't count as an attachment, and this is why you can't then just save it without first downloading it etc.

Yes, it won't save! I am using outlook express. I went to click on the link to open it, it would not open. I right clicked the link to the attachment and tried to save as but, it would not give me that opption. So I am not sure what I need to do! Heatehr
