If you are with a tnt try to contact their special needs section. They have accessible phones set aside for blind users. I have not talked to them in a few years but the program is probably still in place.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] accessible cell phones

Hello everyone,

I've seen discussions on cell phones that are accessible to the blind on here before; but never really paid attention to the thread. I thought my little "old" cell phone was good enough for me. It never dawned on me that I might someday lose my phone and need a new one. Well, it's happened. I lost it and am just lost without a cell phone. I'm desperate. Since I need to get a phone, I figured I might as well take the plunge and jump on into modern times and get a phone that is more accessible then what I had.

Can anyone tell me a really good phone that has screen reading capability (like JAWS), and is fairly easy to use. I am with A T and T. I think I remember seeing once on here something about software called "Talks". Is that like JAWS. I don't know at all what will work. I'd like to be able to go ahead and use the internet on it, maybe text and all the stuff that you young kids do here in the United States.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Ken
