Windows XP is not capable of joining a Home Group network. That is one of
those great features only available with Windows 7 computers.
You will need to use Windows XP type network sharing. I can not provide
great details because I no longer use XP. Make sure both computers have
unique computer names in the System Control Panel under the Computer Name
Tab. Also in this section of the System Control Panel, make sure that a
Workgroup name is set exactly the same for both computers. I recommend
changing from the default.
All of the printers and folders should be shared as you would between XP
computers.
On the Windows 7 computer, it might be necessary to disable password style
sharing (not available on XP) in the Network and Sharing Control Panel. I
have found that JAWS has a lot of trouble setting many of the really useful
controls on this dialog. I had a much easier time using Narrater! The
newest NVDA might be able to work with these strange controls as well.

substance, value, and content that I just try to make sure that I am working
on things that matter.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] how to make a homegroup
Hi,
I have been unable to make a homegroup for exchange of files and to share
a printer.
I have a Windows 7 64bit with jaws 11 and a XP with jaws 11 and they are
on a working wireless connection.
I would appreciate any help and the more specific the better.
Thanks in advance.
Lloyd
