In my particular situation, the, recent, didn't work with Google's recommended settings.
However, using the, smtp, setting for my ISP, works just fine.
Sadly enough, my ISP is A T&T.
HTH,
Rick Justice

Subject: [Blind-Computing] gmail settings

Somebody asked about their Gmail account last evening why they weren't receiving their own messages back from mailing lists, read on and configure your servers tab like I will list below and you'll start to receive your own messages back and probably every message that you have sent to mailing lists since you opened up the account. Just place the word without the quotes in front of your email address: "recent:"

My incoming mail server is a POP3 server.
Incoming mail (POP3): pop.gmail.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com
