the pass through key command, is insert+ number 3 on the number row, not on the numpad. this command is used to pass the key commands to those applications whose shortcut keys may confict with the standard JAWS key shortcuts. A typical example in this case maybe that of the key shortcuts used in the standard version of gmail, wherein you press letter 'O' to open a mail, 'J' to go to previous mail & 'k' to go to the newer conversation/mail. all these keys need to be pressed after pressing the pass through key combination: insert+3.
