in all programs when I open the sub menue all there is is msn explorer and
MGI photo sweet.
do you have any other ideas on how I can check to see if I have the latest
updates, to make sure my computer is up to date?
unless you mean that I have to go into internet explorer and go to the
tools menue and enter on windows up date and then enter on review history
when I am on line.

Under All Programs on the Start menu, hit "M" repeatedly until you land on
Microsoft Updates and hit Enter. Then click on the link labeled "Review
Your Update History" to view a complete list of all MS updates to your PC.
