Hello:
Ok, I went through an interesting situation this past weekend and I will ask
a question of which I believe I know the answer to but seeing as we have
such smart people on here I might get way better answers from what I
originally thought of.
New years day morning I turned on my laptop and did the
typical morning rituals and I noticed my jaws started getting all funky,
meaning choppy, delayed speech and eventually freezing up on me perminetly.
I restarted my system and once it logged back in, everything
was lost. I mean everything. My files, music, photos, documents, everything
was gone, it was like I just purchased the laptop. I couldn't install jaws
because there were no keys available, so I had to take the steps to get that
resolved and got jaws up and running this morning. However, for those two
days I was using window eyes so it didn't matter concerning the speech
portion.
So, my question is if this were to happen again is there a
way to retrieve the lost files that were gone? I'm thinking no seeing as it
was set back to a factory default. I may be wrong but it just seems to me
like its like trying to put back together broken glass, I mean once its gone
its gone right? But as I said at the start of my message we have way more
advanced folks on here so feel free to chime in.
Thanks for everyones time.
Take care.
