HI. No, I never used the control key in this instance. It's a JAWS command
to select text with the shift key along with the JAWS key and the numpad
arrow keys. I use the numpad a lot, so this feature is very handy for me.
There's some sort of conflict it seems like, and I don't' know how to track
it down.

This JAWS command works fine on other keyboards, but just not on this new
one. If this JAWS command is not functioning correctly on this keyboard, I
wonder what other conflicts I might discover as I continue on. So, I need
to figure out what's causing this and what the fix may be. I can't be
purchasing new keyboards every time a keyboard won't allow a particular JAWS
command.

Hello There,
sounds like you're forgetting the control key. Try moving cursor to
beginning of word, hold the control key as well as the shift and right arrow
key.
BTW: I have the same keyboard, but higher level for media and games and all
works ok as far as selecting text.
HTH!

Best Regards, Cornell
