YOUR MESSAGE BEGINS BELOW.

I'm changing from Outlook Express to Outlook 2003, using Jaws 11 and XP Pro.

First of all, you have to make sure that Outlook Express is completely gone
from your system. You may need to uninstall your current Internet Explorer
and then re-install it. If there is a conflict between both programs,
neither may work at all.

i've set up my account, but can't get email to either be sent out or come
in.
You can set up an account directly with Outlook itself but that may not
work. I suggest you go to the Control Panel and then to mail and try it
that way. In addition, there's a check box that has to be checked in the
Additional Options section when you are setting up the account. That check
box is necessary for most SMTP style accounts.

I closed out my account on that computer in OE and outlook appears to be the
default.
It may appear so, but if Outlook Express is still in the system, it won't
work.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm missing here?
Primarily, I believe that you are having a software conflict between Outlook
Express and Outlook. Although they both can run in a single system, they
don't do so comfortably. The designers assumed that the user would move
eventually to the complete Outlook program.

Another question I have is: Is there a way to set Outlook up so messages
come in automatically when I open the program
I don't think so. Usually, you have to press F9 to initiate download of
your messages.

? Also, how do I make messages come into my inbox folder when in options it
says they'll come into the personal folder?
Actually, your In Bpox is the primary Personal Folder. You can create
others of course and use mail rules to sort messages into those folders.
But Outlook 2003 considers the In Box as a personal folder. That's the
Default setting.

I'll surely appreciate any help from anyone with patience.
