There are programs as others have mentioned but you may run
into some digital rights management (DRM) issues. I don't
use ITunes myself but from what my daughter tells me is the
M4a files are protected and play on the computer or device
they were downloaded to. In order to play on other devices,
she needs to burn them to a CD and then rip the CD back to
the computer and this seems to allow using them on other
devices. just a FYI

Subject: [Blind-Computing] need program that will convert
m4a's to mp3's

Hi everyone,

Is there some kind of free software program out there that
will convert M4A music files to mp3's? My wife buys a lot of
music thru I-tunes on her I-phone, but I'd like to be able
to convert and listen to them on my computer and have them
as mp3's or .wav files.

Thanks for any help,

Ken
