Hi Alan;

KVM stands for Keyboard, Video, & Mouse. This swithch will allow 2
computers to share 1 keyboard, monitor, & mouse. My KVM switch also has a
port so 2 computers can also share external / satellite speakers. To use
this particular switch, it has leads that hook-up to the computer monitor,
keyboard, mouse & sound card ports. You then connect the equipment leads to
the central part of this switch. We have 2 desktop computers & 1 desk. So,
this cuts down on a lot of extra crap on the desk. To navigate back & forth
between the 2 computers I press the scroll lock button twice quickly. This
comes in very handy for many reasons but, someone else with the same setup
might use their setup for different reasons. You can get KVM switches to
handle as many as 8 computers. Shopping for a KVM switch can be tricky
because of the options, like having PS2 or USB ports for the keyboard mouse
& speakers, amongst other options. Hope this helps. Take care.
Mike

  Subject: [Blind-Computing] Keyboard Manager question

  Hi All;

  I need to change the default keystroke to my KVM switch. I
  can't seem to
  find the current keystroke, which is pressing the scroll
  lock key twice
  quickly, in the keyboard manager. There are over 500
  keystrokes in there.
  Would someone please tell me if this keystroke would even be
  listed in
  there? Also, has anyone ever changed their default KVM
  keystroke?  I would
  like to get some ideas on what to change the default
  keystroke to!  All help
  will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much. Take care.
  Mike
