Is it asking if you to enter a password for the Home network? Microsoft
thinks they have a trademark or copyright on the term Home Network. It is a
feature that allows you to easily share files in a library to be shared
across your network. Any folder in any location, internal, external, or
remote can be added to a library "folder", such as Music. It only works
between Windows 7 computers connected through your home router. If you only
have one Windows 7 computer, just find the Home Network Control Panel and
disable this feature. Otherwise, in the Control Panel, set a new password
on the first computer, then join the Home Network, again through this
Control Panel, using the same password. There is no username.

There is just so much stuff in the world that, to me, is devoid of any real
substance, value, and content that I just try to make sure that I am working
on things that matter.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] accessing a windows 7 system over a network
It keeps asking me for a password which I found and supplied, but the
thing wants a username which it's not giving me any clue at all as to what
it wants for such an animal. Looking for any guidance in this area folks.

Most people don't know what they're doing and a lot of them are really
good at it.
