Hello, In JAWS: Go to the JAWS menues, options, basics and then: if it's windows XP disable the checkbox automatically start JAWS. If it's windows Vista or 7, press on the automatically start JAWS... button and do the following: uncheck the check box "start JAWS at the logon screen" or something like that. Then, press tab and uncheck the checkbox "start JAWS after logon for all users" Then, press tab and move to the combo box "start JAWS after logon for current user". You can set it to use all users setting. Then, it will start or not (according to the previous checkbox). Or, you can set this to "never". Then, press ok and ok again.
All done! With best regards from Israel, Adi Kushnir. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Yvonne Oliver Sent: Saturday, March 05, 2011 7:33 PM To: 'blind computing' Subject: [Blind-Computing] jaws starting automatically Hello I am trying out a different screen reader But I can hear it in the background at the same time jaws is speaking Can someone tell me how to stop jaws loading automatically on startup/restart I am using jaws 12 in demo mode Windows 7 Thank you Yvonne For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ Send any questions regarding list management to: [email protected] For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ Send any questions regarding list management to: [email protected]
