Alt+f to access the File ribbon. Locate the Options button on the Help ribbon. When the Options dialog is open find Trust Center in the list view. Then Trust Center Settings. Locate Email security in the list view. Tab until you hear Read all standard e-mail in plain text and press space to check it. You should also check Read all digitally signed messages in plain text.

One annoyance is that because it uses MS Word to display messages, any message that includes tables drives JAWS 12 crazy.
