i.e. the default browser, and things seem to be fine, now. Thank you for
the help. P.S. I thank all others who made suggestions to me concerning my
problem.

You said before you had Google chrome shortly so it must have set itself

a default browser while it was there; so now make sure Internet Explorer
is
set as default, then it will be recognized again by OE.
