Subject: [Blind-Computing] A Desktop Shortcut Question

All: I frequently have to access and edit files which reside on a public
drive. The drive has hundreds of folders/directories on it, which means
using the first letter to find a folder is extremely time-consuming. I want
to build a shortcut to the folder I need and have it reside on my desktop.
I'm pretty sure this is doable, I actually think I've done it by accident a
couple times. Of course, that means I have no idea what I did. Can
somebody
give me a quick couple keystrokes to get this done? Thanks in advance.
