Power DVD version 6 almost 100% was accessible from the applications menu. Try it.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] DVD Playback

Today, I received a promotional DVD from Temperpedic, the Swedish company famous for its memory foam mattresses. When I inserted it into my DVD drive, it began playing with a program called Power DVD DX instead of Windows Media Player 11, which is set as my default media player on my XP Pro computer. I was not aware that Power DVDDX was even on my computer unless it was installed automatically when I inserted the DVD. This program had no menus or user interface, so there was no way to control the DVD playback. Using the JAWS cursor didn't help. The only way I could stop the DVD was by pressing Alt-F4 to close this program. What the heck is Power DVD DX, and is there any way to make WMP override it? Thanks.

Gerald
