Dan, I'm not sure if you mean recording directly using the on board options or using alternate software packages. For the record, I have never found the recording capabilities in XP very user friendly at the best of times. However, Several relatively inexpensive software packages are out there which work quite well with Windows 7 as well as Windows XP. You are usually quite adept at using a computer so I'm assuming you mean the recording which is part of Windows 7. In that situation, I have tried using it but haven't been successful.
