Derrick:

With your document open, alt f for the backstage view, press I for the info
tab and then press E or you could tab from there and there should be a
protect document button drop down and press space bar to see what your
options are.

So to review.  With your document open, alt f, then I then E.

With what I stated above, keep in mind, its not a key stroke.

hi Folks

Please could anyone help me, I am new to Office 2010 & the ribbon menus. the
problem I have is that all my existing files are opening up in protected
view & I can not find out where TO change the way all my files open up.
