Chris, Do you have a lot of files which were created on Word or e-mail with Outlook? If yes, you might have an issue since some of these problems are file based. If not, I suggest that you take every Word file, save it as a text (.txt) file and then delete all of the office based files. You might want to consider deleting the folders as well. You can always recreate them later. Issues like this often arise when two versions of Office were in the same unit at different times. Without removing all related files, there is some possibility that you might experience the same problems after re-installing. That is extremely rare.

Due to Outlook 2007 not responding, and running a repair and a system restore didn't fix the problem, I've decided I have no choice but to uninstall and then reinstall Office 2007. My question is this. If I'm going to uninstall Office, is doing it via the control panel and removing the program good enough, or is there more that needs to be done, such as deleting other files manually? Naturally, I'm wanting to do a complete, thorough uninstall so there are no traces of whatever this problem is that might return. I ask because there have been times that when I uninstalled other programs they left files on my computer, etc, so it wasn't really completely gone. Anyway, I'm not convinced this will fix Outlook, but I hope so. I was Googling Outlook and non-responsiveness, and some others who had similar problems still had the same issues after a reinstall. I'm hoping to avoid that problem by scrubbing every trace of Office 2007 from my computer. Thanks. Chris Feist - The one and only!
