On older versions of Miranda If you could get a sighted person to drag the
contact list window out wider with the mouse it would work just fine and it
would stay that way. If you can you might give this a try.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] help with miranda im?

HI. i am using jaws 12, and windows xp.
Windows messenger wouldn't sign in for me today so i decided to take the
plunge and try miranda im. A friend sent me a pod cast on how to set it
up, and i installed the bclist plug in.

Now i can see contact names on the screen, but it's like the window is
minimized. Ihear a name and then maybe half a status or half of the
word online. Iwent googling and found a pre configured miranda called
mira speak. the contact list read beautifully and i loved all the
notifications, but alas i think it is an old version of the programme as
i couldn't get facebook chat to work.

Are there any pre configured versions out there that will work with
facebook chat? Or can someone tell me how to see the contact list
correctly? is there another plug in i need to install?

thanks
