[Blind-Computing] down loading a program from the internet

Hi all,
I am using windows xp and I seem to have forgotten how to save a program after 
down loading it from the internet .
I need step by step instructions on how to do this so when I uninstall the 
original program all I have to do is click on the .exe file and the set up will 
start to down load the new program.-anna
