the only program I found out could do this is Eudora. it is an E-mail program, free and quite accessible. you simply copy the whole folder from one machine and paste it onto another, and it will start working immediately with all your settings and address book.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Moving a program

To all Listers:

I am not sure if this subject has been brought up as of yet.

Is there a way to move a program that has been installed on my laptop hard drive to an external hard drive?

Many thanks.

Jerry
