You cannot convert .rar to .mp3

.rar is an archive format while .mp3 is a compressed audio format.

You need to extract your .rar archive to get to the files within. If this is supposed to be an audio book, then chances are that you'll find your mp3 files contained within the .rar archive.

.rar is another form of archive, similar to but not the same as .zip. You'll need a decompression program to extract your .rar archive. One that is fre and very accessible is 7-zip from

http://www.7-zip.org/

just install with the defaults and you should be good to go. 7-zip does not take over file associations as some other decompression utilities do. when you have 7-zip installed, you should find it in the context menu when you right-click on the .rar archive. Pick "extract" and you should be able to get to your book.
