Do you mean the wireless button? This is in case you want to turn it off if
your going to fly. It is called airplane mode.

I have a dumb question.  I have a Dell laptop.  On the right side of it,
towards the back, there is a button that can be pressed to turn the modem
off.  Why on earth would yu want to do that?
