[Blind-Computing] icons that disappear from the system tray

hello
I use dropbox and one of the things I need to do is go to the system tray and 
press enter on the dropbox icon
but for some reason after I do this once next time I press f11 the icon is no 
longer in the system tray selection
it seems to of disappeared and I only know one way to get the icon back in the 
tray is to restart the computer
is there an alternative way to get the icon back in to the tray?
and how can I make icons stay in the tray permanently
