There are many views in which to work in PowerPoint. Slide View/design,

creating a slide or reading a presentation?

If you are in the slide view where you create and edit slides, page Up and
Page Down will move you from slide to slide. Once on a slide, use tab to
move from object to object on that page. If it is an object containing
text, Enter will allow you to edit the contents of that object. The last
time I used PowerPoint it was with Office 2007 and JAWS 11. JAWS still
could not read all objects. Many times Outline view is a better option for
reading the text.

If you are in the slide show, last time I tried it, JAWS was only reading
the title of the slide. I think the arrows allowed me to go forward and
back through the slides.

It has been a while since I used PowerPoint on a regular basis.

I press page up, Jaws only reads name of a previous slide. Then I must hit
space bar, it shows the slide.

Thank you very much,
Nam

I believe you can also press F 5 and it will read it to you and to
navigate
from slide to slide press the spacebar.

If the slide show has been created correctly, you have 2 choices of
how to read the information.

read the info off of the slides by:
1. Using TAB to move from object to object on a single slide.
2. If you press enter, you will be able to edit the contents of that
object. You do not have a need to do this when just reading the
information. If you accidently press enter, just press Escape to get
out of the editing mode of that object.
3. Use Page up to move forward to the next slide and Page Down to
move back a slide.

Reading the information in the outline:
1. There is a way to set the pane on the left side of the screen to
display the contents of the slide show in the outline view. Off of
the top of my head, I do not remember how to do this in PowerPoint
2007.
2. Use F6 to move from pane to pane until you get to the Outline pane.
3. Use your JAWS reading and navigation commands to move through and
read the information.

Annette
