You do realize how hard this task can be. It requires a program that can transcribe the speaker. There are programs like Dragon Naturally Speaking that do this fairly well. However, it requires the speaker to talk at a slow rate and speak all punctuation, which is normal for dictation. It also requires the speaker to train the Dragon! (Which is a cute Movie and NLS book)
Google Voice may be a free method of providing dictation, but as far as I know you would need to leave the audio of the phone while leaving yourself a voice mail. It will send you the text as an email. This is far from perfect as well. If you possibly can, get the file in a readable format. *Don Marang* Vinux Software Development Coordinator - vinuxproject.org <http://www.vinuxproject.org/> There is just so much stuff in the world that, to me, is devoid of any real substance, value, and content that I just try to make sure that I am working on things that matter. -- Dean Kamen On 12/1/2011 12:07 AM, Silpa Mallipeddi wrote: > Hi All: > > I would like to know if there is any software to convert audio files > into text or word documents. > > Thanks and regards, > Silpa. > > For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: > http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
