Ok, just after sending this, I went into godMode control panel interface,
and under administrative tools, hit enter on Create and format hard disk
partitions, and right clicked on C drive, and chose shrink from the context
menu, and after doing a form of analysis, it offered to let me shrink the
drive partition by the relevant 247Gb, and I think I'd then be able to get
it to format the then unpartitioned space easily enough, so, question
answered...<smile>
As in, should have looked for it myself before sending message to list -
sorry.
Stay well

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Splitting an existing drive partition into
twoseparate partitions/drive letters
Hi there
Just wondering if there's an easy/simple way to, on a windows7 machine,
split an existing C drive into something like 2 separate partitions/drive
letters, without losing data, etc. - so, in other words, would like to
split currently empty space into a new drive letter, so that could then
backup data on it, before formatting then then C drive, and reinstalling a
clean copy of windows7 thereon?
TIA
