Hi Kathy,
     There are others who can give you the in depth details on the 32 and 64
bit systems. The main thing to know is that the 64 bit is the newer standard
and thus the newer software on the market will be designed for it. On the
other hand a 64 bit computer will be reverse compatible with most of the 32
bit software. If I were in the market for a computer today, I would buy the
64 bit.
